Hi, I'm Emily Beaulieu — a New Hampshire educator, herbalist, and homesteader who writes stories that help young readers discover the world a little differently. From herb-gardens to hospital tents, every book grows from something true.

By day, Emily teaches young children. By evening, she's homesteading with her mother — caring for animals, growing herbs, and learning the traditional remedies passed down through her family. Those quiet, hands-on hours became the soil for every book she writes.
Whether it's a mischievous kitten leading four friends into a hidden garden, or a Civil War nurse carrying lavender into a field hospital, Emily's stories are rooted in the belief that learning — and healing — happen outside the lines.

When Eliza joins Ms. Wilde's after-school club, she expects to learn about plants. Instead she finds friendship, outdoor adventure, and a very mischievous kitten named Almonds.

She carried herbs into battle, and found love in the middle of loss. A moving story of faith, sacrifice, and healing during war.

Some battles are invisible. Some curves are permanent. A heartfelt scoliosis journey inspired by Emily's own story.
Every good herbalist club needs a chaos agent. Almonds wanders into the books, the photos, and yes — even this website. Keep an eye out as she pads across the page.
